Altruist Primer SPF50 is created by consultant dermatologist and skin cancer surgeon Dr Andrew Birnie to provide optimum protection against the sun's harmful UVA and UVB radiation, exceeding EU standards.
This lightweight primer contains high quality, broad-spectrum SPF50 protection with 5 star ultra-UVA rating (PPD 48). Designed to apply under make-up, it creates the perfect base while helping to protect from sun damage, premature skin aging and minimizing the risk of skin cancer.
The lightweight formula absorbs easily into the skin, without feeling or leaving a sticky residu, like a lot of sunscreens would.

Why is the Family Sunspray suitable for babies from 6 months?
The Family Sunspray is suitable for babies from 6 months because it does not contain silver chloride, a preservative used in some of our other SPF50 sunscreens. While there is no evidence that silver chloride is harmful, it has not been tested for use on children under 2 and is therefore not licensed for that age group
As a brand that strictly follows EU sunscreen regulations, this is why our other sunscreens are labelled for 2 years and older. For younger babies, we recommend avoiding direct sun exposure and using protective clothing.
Why have you created a specific redness sunscren
Altruist Anti-redness and Pigmentation is more than just sunscreen. It’s a concealing and healing moisturising day cream. It offers instant concealment to reduce redness and make skin look even toned and, over an 8-week period of use, its active photocomplex formula successfully treats sensitive red skin without the use of antibiotics. It also offers broad spectrum protection including high energy blue light, to reduce the risk of further irritation from the sun and the addition of iron oxides helps prevent worsening of hormonally induced pigmentation.
Which ingredients in the Anti-Redness combat redness?
Tinted face cream, containing special pigments, provides instant concealing effect, making skin look more even toned, neutralising redness and blending out uneven pigmentation. At the same time an active phytocomplex (of 5 plant and 1 yeast extract, including liquorice root, calendula and horse chestnut) with anti-inflammatory, blood vessel calming and healing properties successfully treats sensitive red skin over an 8 week period. Antibiotic free.
