Who are we?
Altruist was founded in 2015 by dermatologist and skin cancer surgeon Dr Andrew Birnie and economist David Westerbeek-van Eerten.
Their mission began with a growing concern: skin cancer is increasing worldwide, and therefore high-quality sunscreen should be accesible to everyone.
At Altruist, we believe that effective sun care does not come with a premium price tag. We create high-quality sunscreen that protect your skin while raising awareness about the importance of sun protection and removing barries that prevent people from using it.

I have to wear sunscreen all the while as have reduced melanin. Most are heavy and make you sweat this cream goes on easy and doesn't make your face sweat.
Have used the original version for a few years but always found it to be slightly to dark for me. This is a lighter weight fluid and a lighter shade, much better for my complexion.

Every tube sold makes a difference
For every product sold, 10p worth of sunscreen will be donated to children with albinism in Africa. In Tanzania and many parts of Africa, children with albinism are highly vulnerable to sun exposure, which significantly increases their risk of skin cancer.
Albinism is a genetic condition that causes very low pigmentation in the skin, hair, and eyes. Many children with albinism face harsh living conditions and health challenges. By providing sunscreen, we help protect their skin and improve their quality of life.
Through this initiative, we put people and skin first, making sun protection accessible where it is needed most.
